Ways to get Involved
Getting involved as a Participant
Are you living with fibromyalgia? The current research focuses on the effectiveness of Limbic Reflexology in improving the lives of those living with fibromyalgia.
You need to be 18 or over
You need to have a formal diagnosis of fibromyalgia either by your GP or a Rheumatologist.
You should not have any other chronic pain condition.
Once you are allocated to a Limbic Reflexology Therapist, they will make a further assessment as to the suitability of the treatments for your needs.
Free treatments
Before you begin your treatments, you will complete and submit questionnaires for eight weeks. This gives us a picture of how things are for you usually with your current care. This is important as we can then acurately measure the level of benefit you get from the reflexology treatments.
You will initially receive eight weekly treatments.
This will be followed by a series of four maintenance treatments each four weeks apart.
So, over twenty four weeks, you will receive 12 treatments free of charge.
Before enrolling, it is important, both for the research and for the effectiveness of the treatments, that you can make a commitment to attend every treatment. The timing and sequence of the treatments is very important, so please only enrol when you know that you can make this commitment.
You will be responsible for any travel costs involved in attending the sessions.
How to enrol
Once the programme is active, there will be a link below to view a list of available Therapists.
If there is a Therapist in your area, you can then submit a form to register your interest, identifying the Therapist local to you.
Therapists either work from a clinic setting where you will need to travel regularly to the therapist, or as a mobile Therapist where they will visit you at your home.
In either case, first make sure you can make this commitment required.
